Creve Couer

After the glorious long weekend in N’awlins, before the final wrap-up (soon to come), a brief moment to commemorate my first Valentine’s Day sans valentine in close to two decades.

Every time I see Dennis now – and I’m sure he feels the same – the maelstrom of emotions staggers me. Within the first 10 minutes of being in the same space – and I’m sure he feels the same – I’m hit full force with why we can no longer coexist and with why we got together in the first place and stayed that way.

I miss him so terribly sometimes.

There, I’ve said it.

So, trying to hit all bases:
If you’re alone today, that’s not so bad. It may be reason to rejoice. In the end, we all need to take very tender care of ourselves.

If you’re with someone and you’re happy, lose yourself.

If you’re with someone and you’re not so happy…be present. Change may be coming. Embrace it.

Love is always good. So love it.

Happy Valentine’s Day.
